Finally.,..:-)!!! The day has come.. and the yatra which promises to be life changing has started..!
24th is a induction day of the yatra and by 11 am we are through with formalities like registration, medical check, luggage tagging etc. during this some folks with guitar started singing and entertained themselves for some time. Then the most important part of introduction started. It included individual introduction and also the kind of work they do.
The yatris are from diff. States, languages, nations, having diff. Educational qualification. Though there is a diversity in every aspect.. But i found some things are in common among us , Like energy, excitement and anxiousness..!! It was a perfect mixture of sociocrats with an entrepreneurial touch.
There were about 400 yatris and facilitators..! About 27% rural , 35% were semi urban and rest from urban areas. There were more than 20 international yatris and facilitators.
I just loved the grouping system which is specially designed to maintain the diversity of region, language, thoughts, occupation etc.
The introduction started at around 2 pm. In this they introduced the structure and activities of the yatra to us. A stuff of do's and don’ts was shared with us.! There was a major presentation by Mr. Shashank mani. On enterprise led development (ELD). He explained it in both statistical & intellectual ways. Also gave his reasons to emphasize ELD Like, it is job creator thing and ELD is all about shifting the paradigm of development from dependence to that of taking charge.
An enterprise needs an idea, capital and a committed team. I thought it was my turn to take this pilgrimage, a pilgrimage that honors the country by exploring & learning from it.!
Personally I think the ELD is a great idea for boosting the growth rate of country by implementing it at the grass root level & over 350 yatris including me have that potential & and energy to go for it.
After this the major event of inaugural function started with the yatri geet & a well choreographed dance by us all. It was just a great feeling to be there and feeling the energy flowing through the hall. At every dance movement i piled myself with shear confidence and courage...!
It’s kind of diferent Feeling to be there in 350 like me who can think who can innovate and who has a common can-do attitude 2 begin the transformation of a mother INDIA.
Then the big man came on stage its R. GOPALKRISHNAN.(TCS) 3rd in TATA group. He described his thoughts in a simple and humorous manner. He told a thought from ALLAMA EQBAL
“HOW STRANGE IT IS LIKE, THERE ARE GREAT CIVILISATIONS LIKE GREECE AND ROMANS AND MANY MORE BUT THEY ARE ALL EXTINCT NOW BUT OUR INDIAN CIVILISATION IS STILL GOING ON”
He described 2 reasons this
1. Change: The flexibility of changing according to time by keeping the core values Untouched is the main reason for survival
2. of course the sustenance of society
A thought about change sparked in my mind
"Change is the nature of life & I think we are the change"
Then came the awesome presentation by the DABBAWALAS FROM MUMBAI
MANISH TIWARI from dabbawala association has given a 3 perfect characteristics about
Their survival or sustenance till 190 years...
1. Enter into a business which your heart says
2. Hire employs with optimum qualification
3. Commitment matters the most.
With this he given away a wonderful session on them, there management their work chain.
It was a long day for us, a lot of intros new friends intelectual talks about how we can change the things around.
I actually and practically come to know that yes we are the change that my country needs and we'll not stop till the goal is reached.
